Launch of the Learn Well, Live Well Report

On 24th February the Impact Forum and Belfast Learning City held the online launch of their joint publication, Learn Well, Live Well: adult learning and health and wellbeing.

We were delighted to have messages of support from the two Junior Ministers, Gary Middleton and Declan Kearney. We also heard from Raúl Valdés-Cotera (UNESCO UIL) author of the report’s Introduction.

This was followed by an excellent panel discussion featuring Stephen Evans (Learning & Work Inst), Bryan Nelson (BHSCT), Kelly Gilliland (Belfast City Council) & Danny Power (Belfast Learning City).

We were so pleased that almost all the authors of report were able to join us, along with a number of those who contributed case studies.

The Forum will be taking the core findings of the report and using those in its submissions to key policy consultations this year – the Mental Health Strategy, Skills Strategy and the first phase of the next draft Programme for Government.

We would urge all members and other interested parties to also make submissions and press for greater recognition and support for adult and lifelong learning.
