Towards a Culture of Lifelong Learning in Northern Ireland

Throughout 2021 FALNI members explored the theme of creating a culture of lifelong learning in Northern Ireland. This work was enabled with the support of the UK’s EAAL programme, managed by our colleagues at the Learning & Work Institute (https://learningandwork.org.uk/) and with their assistance we have created a report which captures the thoughts and suggestions of our working groups and webinar attendees.

This report is offered as a stimulus for engagement with Government departments, elected representatives and other interested parties. The theme comes from the draft Skills Strategy produced by the Dept. for the Economy which proposes a Lifelong Learning Action Plan for NI.

We hope that this is the beginning of productive dialogue throughout 2022 and beyond. FALNI will work to create opportunities for further engagement between our members, local decision-makers and colleagues from other parts of these islands.
